Self Love

Practice self-love. Give yourself a facial. Buy something nice for yourself. Do something that will make YOU feel good. You deserve it.

Exercise

I know we all have busy lives, but working out has been one of the major keys to my happiness. When you work out you release endorphins and boost your serotonin levels. It has been proven that 1 hour of exercise a day can help with depression & anxiety. Start slow, but you have to start. The first 2 weeks are the hardest, after that it becomes much easier. You deserve physical & mental health. You are worthy of taking 1 hour a day for yourself.

Affirmations

“I am” are the 2 most powerful words. Every morning and every evening say your affirmations.

  • I am happy.
  • I am abundantly wealthy.
  • I am proud of myself.
  • I am enough.
  • I am choosing to love myself

Write down your own affirmations, over time they will become a habit and you will see the things you believe start to manifest. Journaling these affirmations down is also another great way to relieve stress and practice self-love.

Sleep

We need sleep. 8 hours. You need to be rested. You owe it to yourself and your body. When you don’t sleep correctly you gain weight, your judgment is clouded, and your lifespan is shortened. It is ok to go to bed early!

Meditation/Breathing Exercises

Studies show that people who meditate benefit from

  • an extreme reduction of stress
  • self-knowledge
  • healthier lifestyle choices
  • overcoming the negative effects of depression & anxiety

If you find yourself being under extreme depression and/or anxiety try this breathing exercise. Dr. Andrew Weil has called this “a natural tranquilizer for the nervous system.” This eases the body into a state of calmness and relaxation.

  1. Inhale through the nose for 4 seconds
  2. Hold the breath for 7 seconds
  3. Exhale through the mouth for 8 seconds
  4. Repeat 6 times

In this crazy world where you are trying to take care of everybody around you, remember you deserve to take care of yourself to. If you are not good, how can you help the people around you? You deserve to love yourself. You deserve happiness.

Keep pushing through, YOU GOT THIS!

Love,

Ash

  1. I completely agree about the breathing exercises! I have problems with anxiety and panic attacks and I’ve found that deep breathing always helps get me through. And just like you if my anxiety is bad enough, it wakes me from sleep which is the worst!
